Gourmet products with a prize: How these awards are given.
The products are analyzed individually and blind, with emphasis on the intensity of the flavour. Each parameter, such as texture, aroma, taste or smell, is evaluated and commented on by the members of the jury, to give a final evaluation, with the products not competing with each other. Each product is classified in one of the 340 categories and is tasted according to the producer’s instructions. A mark is given for each criterion, as well as a comment justifying the points. With the final results, all participating manufacturers receive a report with analysis, comments and suggestions for improvement of their products. So as to receive the award, the product must have passed a minimum score of 70%.
